Back in 2007, I was struggling with ActionScript, the coding language behind Flash. My progress was slow, but that was hardly surprising; while my brains were unwilling to commit to the logic of code, my hands reveled on the design possibilities that Flash offers.
I’ve invested a lot of time in mastering different techniques. Thanks to the many hours of drawing during my school days, I already knew the basics of creating a 2d image (such as perspective drawing).
In the picture above, I’ve created a mirroring floor. I’ve also put a lot of energy for in drawing an old-timer in point perspective. This was a lot harder than the usually pure geometric shapes of buildings.
Now, when I look at the picture, I can get lost in the many layers that the image has inside. On the other hand, I also see opportunities for improvement. The image would be more comprehensive with more shadows and more enlivening elements such as damage to the wall etc.
Maybe in the future, I’ll continue to work on this piece of computer art. For now I’m content, it functions very well as a wallpaper on this blog…
