Gamification: Oranjewoud Regatta

As a member of the communications team of engineering company Oranjewoud, I get the chance to work on really fun projects, like the development of an online game dedicated to rowing. An Olympic sport that is sponsored by Oranjewoud

Inflatable row boat
the essence of the game is simple. Score as many points by picking up Oranjewoud logos. Avoid water plants, solar boats and crocodiles. As a player you have to maneuver the rowboat tactical through the water in order to set the highest score and win a Samsung Galaxy Tablet.
There are also prices for the less talented gamers, everyone who takes part in the regatta can win a bright orange inflatable row boat.



Two different worlds
Together with a graphic designer from my team we’ve built this game in only a month time. Oranjewoud managed to create a nice link between two different worlds: the world of the rowing and the one of engineers. Only gamification can do that in such a fun way!
No wonder the game is played by both engineers and rowers. Even members of the Dutch Olympic team are fanatically trying to put down a highscore!
